Tragically, we have experience of partners in the heat of divorce and relationship breakdown making unfounded allegations of domestic abuse or child cruelty against one another. Once an allegation is made the system in place is prescriptive and those accused often find themselves in a police cell for the first time. It is frightening and humiliating and the correct legal advice is essential that this time.
